The copy and paste queen Hannah Hoch was born on November 1, 1889 in Gotha, Germany. Hoch was a German Dada artist known for being one of the originators of photomontage. This movement was majorly male figures. The movement was freely open space where artists could be himself or herself, without any regulations. Dada may have launched Höch into her life’s work, but it never completely defined her. Throughout her life she held down a part-time job in the editorial department at Ullstein, one of the largest publishing houses in Germany. From 1916 to 1926, she worked as a pattern designer and write for women’s handicrafts. There was a lot of controversy about her marriages, lovers, abortions, and paintings. Many people believed that her artistic work resembled her lifestyle a lot. She was known to be the copy and paste queen, making awesome photomontages. Throughout, the years photomontage was accepted and Hannah Hoch became a great pioneer.
